BACHELOR OF EDUCATION COURSE (B.Ed.)

The secondary teacher education programme, commonly known as B.Ed., is meant for preparing teachers for secondary/senior secondary schools. The B.Ed. programme is a regular course of Two Year duration..


ELIGIBILITY

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the programme.

NOTE

(i) There shall be no rounding off of percentage of marks of the qualifying examination from 0.5% and above to next higher number for determining the eligibility i.e. 49.5% and above will not be rounded off to 50%.

(ii) 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.

(iii) 45% marks for Blind/Physically Handicapped and Visually Impaired candidates.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF B.Ed. COURSE 

  1.  To promote capabilities for inculcating national values and goals as mentioned in the constitution of India.
  2.  To act as agents of modernization and social change.
  3.  To promote social cohesion, international understanding and protection of human rights of the       child.
  4.  To become competent committed professional willing to perform the identified task.
  5.  To use competencies and skills needed for becoming an effective teacher.
  6.  To be sensitive student teacher about emerging issues such as environment, population, 
  7.  gender equity, legal literacy etc.
  8. To inculcate rational thinking and scientific temper among the students.
  9. To develop critical awareness about the social realities among the students.
  10.  To use managerial and organizational skills.
